Did the HBO show DTF St. Louis spark new interest in Hotwifing, Cuckolding and just general Non-Monogamy, or has that interest always been there and now someone discover that you can write about these things and Sally no longer has to keep it a secret why she isn't available for Wine Club on every third Saturday.
David J. Ley’s Psychology Today article, “How Cuckolding Moved Into the Mainstream,” explores how cuckolding, hotwifing, and consensual female non-monogamy have shifted from taboo or hidden relationship practices into more visible topics in sex research, media, and modern relationship discussions. The article explains that while cuckolding has historically been associated with shame, humiliation, and stigma, recent psychological research and broader cultural conversation have helped reframe it as a consensual sexual fantasy or lifestyle that can be healthy for some couples. Ley also notes a growing shift away from seeing cuckolding only as a male fantasy and toward recognizing women’s sexual agency, desire, and autonomy within non-monogamous relationships.
Good on you David, I'm proud of you, you can all go read the article HERE.
My take, I remember when if you had a tattoo it used to mean either you were a sailor, spent time in prison, or was some other sort of fringe alternative type. Now it seems like everyone has ink somewhere that's almost shocking to meet someone without one. Mainstream acceptance can remove shame and stigma, but it also robs subcultures of their uniqueness and sense of cool and community. If everyone is walking up to your wife at the Piggly Wiggly and asking them if vegetables can be sensuous, where does the thrill go.
I would say at least this will be good for business, but Hotwifing is not mainstream enough that Google will let me advertise this site.
